Unit3: Supermarkets

Supermarkets are in important part of daily life in Britian . The five biggest supermarkets sell 80% of all groceries- that's food and drink. Tesco is the biggest. It's got nearly 2, 000 shops in Britain.
In the larger spermarkets you can buy just about the anything . On the shelves you can find all the food and drink you need.
The very big supermarkets are usually on the edge of towns and most people drive to them.
And while tey are there with teir car, customers can buy petrol too.
But not everyone likes supermarkets . Small shops in towns and villages are closing because supermarkets can sell the same things cheaper . So people without cars have less choice.
As a result , the big supermarkets have started to open small shops in town and cities centre.
